First Transnational Partner Meeting, held in Nicosia, Cyprus

After our initial online meetings and early exchanges, the TAILi consortium officially launched its collaborative work during its first Transnational Partner Meeting, held on 26 – 27 February 2026 in Nicosia, Cyprus. Hosted by CARDET, the meeting brought together representatives of all 14 partner institutions, with 25 participants attending in person to begin shaping the next stages of the Teacher Academy for AI Literacy. This created space to meet colleagues face to face, share perspectives, clarify ideas, and build the working relationships needed for a project that brings together higher education institutions, schools, educational organisations, and technology partners.

Across the two days, partners discussed the project’s main areas of work, including the development of the AI literacy competence framework, reviewed the progress of the literature review and needs-analysis activities, which will explore teachers’ experiences, needs, concerns, and current practices relating to AI in education across the participating countries.

The consortium also introduced the initial direction for the TAILi training curricula. The planned training will support both pre-service and in-service teachers through learning modules addressing AI knowledge, pedagogical practice, ethics and human agency, and professional development. Partners discussed how the curricula, learning materials, Open Educational Resources, and assessment approaches would be developed collaboratively.

The meeting also confirmed the use of Moodle as the project’s learning-management system. The platform will support flexible and accessible learning through a hybrid hosting model, combining a central platform with localised Moodle environments in participating countries.

The first in-person meeting marked an encouraging start for the partnership. With common goals, agreed next steps, and active cooperation across Europe, the TAILi partnership is now moving forward to develop practical, inclusive, and responsible AI literacy opportunities for teachers and school communities.

During the next stages of the project, the consortium will finalise the training curriculum, develop the Learning Modules and digital resources, test the materials with teachers and schools, and use feedback from participants and stakeholders to improve the training offer.
